“Poly-Phonic Cosmos (Japanese Technopop and Synthscapes 1979 - 85)" is two 45 minute mixes of music from Japan I have picked up over the years on various trips to DJ there. Electronic music in Japan in this era very much existed in isolation with the exception of YMO (not included here) who were the solitary break out act internationally. Yellow Magic Orchestra were the tip of an iceberg of artists with very advanced production techniques creating wildly imaginative Technopop and heavenly Synthscapes. It is an introduction to some of the wondrous sounds being produced in Japan at this time and hopefully I've managed to coherently show the scope of styles being explored back then.

I've been experimenting with how to make the series of mixes, that originally came out on tape in 2021, available. They have been so well received and have raised over £2000 for the food bank, so I thought I'd try making a few more / pay what you want releases. Any money raised will be split between Glasgow North West Foodbank who I have a long standing relationship with, and Edinburgh Direct Aid who have a long standing relationship with Palestine Medical Relief Society, who they will send funds to directly. As soon as medical supplies are allowed into Gaza, Palestine Medical Relief Society will be there. Thanks!
