To mark the opening of the Optimo Music/Optimo Trax band camp page, we've put together this sampler featuring some tracks from our favourite recent releases on the labels.

We are lucky to release loads of great music, both coming out of our own ever-fertile city of Glasgow (Pussy Mothers, MR TC, Junto Club) and from around the world (Boot & Tax, José Manuel and Underspreche are all from Italy, Peter Zummo is a New Yorker and The Golden Filter are an American/Australian collaboration).

Hopefully this compilation will provide you with a flavour.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
