This is a reissue of two dub disco classics by London's Reel Houze, originally released in 1996. Reel Houze were DJ D and Rob Mello (both still very much active today) who along with Harvey and The Idjut Boys spearheaded a mid 90s reimagining of disco where anything went and wildnness abounded. Taking the idea of dub disco to the outer limits, Reel Houze released a handful of timeless classics which are long overdue for revisiting and reappraising.

"The Chance" is based on a loop from Dinosaur L's "Go Bang!" and this version originally appeared as a one sided 12". It features one of the all time great Moog solos courtesy of Rob Mello and has DJ Harvey playing wild percussion (using a toilet seat apparently). DJ D takes it to the dub limits.

"No Difference", here in its dub version is a little reminiscent of Basic Channel's "Phylyps Trak II" if Basic Channel had been fusing mutant disco with dub, rather than techno. It is one of those tracks that is perfect for elongated and wild dj mixing sessions.

Both tracks are long and loose and were firm favourites at the very start of Optimo nights in the Sub Club in Glasgow, almost 20 years ago! Both still sound great today and have a wildness and freeness often missing from a lot of current music that looks to disco for inspiration.
